About Rubbed Right BBQ

   Hi, my name is Mark Principato, and I’m the owner and Pitmaster of Rubbed Right BBQ.  I became interested in cooking at a young age, but finding my passion for barbecue was accidental.  After one too many charred meals by my father-in-law, I was nominated to take over the grilling duties.  Once I got comfortable with tending the grill I developed a desire to learn and hone in on my bbq skills.  In doing so, I spent a lot of time cooking outdoors practicing new recipes and techniques to try to wow my family and friends.  Eventually, I came across the Barbecue Championship Series on tv, and that was the moment that led me on my competition barbecue journey.  Soon after that, I entered my first barbecue competition, and I was hooked!  Needless to say, my initial results weren't what I had hoped for, but I didn’t regret a second of it, and eventually, I developed the flavors and techniques that would produce award winning barbecue recipes.  After a while, I decided that I wanted to share my passion for great food and slow smoked bbq with others, so I started Rubbed Right BBQ.  With the support of my amazing wife, family, and friends, I've had the pleasure of sharing my craft with the community.  Once you taste it for yourself, I think you'll agree that the love that goes into our food speaks for itself.  Our food is layered with flavor for a finished product that’s moist, tender, and pops with flavor!  Our ultimate goal is for all of the flavors from the seasonings to the smoke to meld together in perfect harmony without one overpowering the other.  Barbecue truly is an amazing art, but the most amazing thing about it is its ability to bring people together.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit Rubbed Right BBQ!  We truly hope to be a part of your next special event.
